Louise Lichtmay was a soprano from Germany. She was very active in the German theaters of New York in the 1870s and was best known for her Valentine in "Die Hugenotten." The actress performed as a soloist at a wide range of venues throughout the decade. In this photo Licthmay poses in costume at the Howell studio in New York City, circa 1870.
