Clement Nigri
Clement Nigri, who specialized in opera bouffe, made his 1880 New York debut with Maurice Grau's Opera Company at the Standard Theatre. He appeared in "Babiole," "La Mascotte," "Madame Favart," and other French favorites. In the mid 1880s Nigri left Grau for a concert career. Nigri poses in an exaggerated military costume for "La Fille du Tambour-Major" at the Mora studio in New York.
