H. C. Peakes
(Henry) H. C. Peakes enjoyed a long and successful career as an opera and opera bouffe singer. He made his 1864 New York debut as Bourdon in "Le Postillon de Longjumeau" at Niblo's Garden and continued to sing throughout the late 1880s. Peakes performed with Caroline Riching's company and then the Emma Abbott Opera Company. The artist poses in a bow tie, circa 1870, at the Warren studio in Boston.
