Sallie Reber, a concert and operatic vocalist, made her 1869 debut at New York's Irving Hall. Throughout the 1870s Reber performed at the Grand Opera House and the New York Academy of Music, but in the 80s she turned toward comic opera, especially "The Pirates of Penzance" and "Iolanthe."
