Bettie Remmelsberg
Bettie Remmelsberg, a dancer, made her 1870 U.S. debut as a lead dancer in "The Black Crook" at New York's Niblo's Garden. Throughout the 1870s Remmelsberg appeared with French and Italian companies in New York. The daring artist poses in a revealing male costume at the Gurney studio in New York, circa 1870.
