Henri Wieniawski (1835-1880)
Henri or Henryk Wieniawski, a Polish violinist and composer, was violinist to the Tsar of Russia and taught at the St. Petersburg Conservatoire. In the U.S. he was considered "the greatest of living violinists." He also composed Romantic concertos and genre pieces for violin.
