Angela Sefton (b.1840)
Angela Sefton, the daughter of actor John Sefton and a dancer named Miss Wells, was an actress. Born in Pittsburgh, the young woman made her stage debut in 1857 as Francine in "Gone to the Mill" at the Trenton Theatre (New Jersey). Sefton's Philadelphia debut was in "The French Spy" at the Arch Street Theatre in 1859. With her dramatic pose and flowing hair, the actress is captured here by an unidentified photographer, circa 1865.
