Marcus Mills Pomeroy (1833-1896)

Pomeroy was a U.S. newspaper editor and publisher, politician, and at times humorist, popularly known as "Brick" Pomeroy. His journalism was sensational, independent, and he always championed the underdog. Pomeroy also edited the New York "Democrat."
