Sally Stickney, Mrs. Omar Kingsley

Born in Philadelphia, Sally Stickney was an "equestrienne," or professional rider, who grew up in the circus business. In 1861 she married Omar Kingsley, also a circus rider and female impersonator whose professional name was Ella Zoyara. In 1869 Stickney traveled to Australia and then made New York her home. This engraving was from the Lindley & Warren studio in Boston.
