Dr. Samuel A. Mudd
This sketch was made at his trial and printed in an 1865 pamphlet on the assassination. Mudd was convicted of conspiring with the killers of Abraham Lincoln because he had set Booth's broken leg during the assassin's flight. President Andrew Johnson pardoned him in 1869, and in 1979 a presidential proclamation cleared his name.
