Philena McKeen and Phebe Fuller McKeen (d.1880)
Philena McKeen was the founder and principal of Abbot Female Academy, in Andover, Massachusetts. Her sister, Phebe McKeen, was her assistant. Abbot Academy, one of the first educational institutions in New England to be founded for girls and women alone, opened its doors to seventy students on May 6, 1829.
