Francis C. Bangs (1833-1908)
Frank Bangs was an actor. He was born in Virginia. He debuted in 1852, at the Old National Theatre, Washington, DC. Bangs' New York debut was at Laura Keane's Theatre in 1858. He quickly appeared in several other New York theatres, then retired from the stage in 1860. Bangs came back onto the boards in 1865, when he played William Tell at the National Theatre in Washington. In 1869 he participated in the Shakespearean revival at Booth's Theatre. Frank Bangs appears here costumed as Shakespeare's Buckingham.
