Dan Bryant (1833-1875)
Dan Bryant (Daniel Webster O'Brien) made his debut as a dancer in 1845. His minstrel character first appeared in New York City in 1845, dancing to patter songs like "Shoo Fly." Bryant was also famous for an Irish character named Handy Andy.
