Charles F. Coghlan (c.1842-1899)
Charles Francis Coghlan was a playwright, Shakespearean actor and leading man. He died while in Galveston, Texas. According to legend, during the terrible hurricane of 1900, his coffin (along with others) was swept from the Galveston cemetery out to sea. In 1908 the actor's coffin bobbed up near Prince Edward Island, 3,000 miles from Galveston, precisely where Coghlan had been born.
