Alexandre Dumas (1802-1870)
Dumas "pere" (father) was one of the most prolific and popular French authors of the 19th century. He was a dramatist and author of historical novels. His best known works are "The Three Musketeers" and "The Count of Monte Cristo." Dumas poses in New York at the Gurney studio.
