J. B. Omohundro (1846-1880), "Texas Jack"
John Burwell Omohundro, Jr. - known as "Texas Jack" - frontier scout, cowboy, and actor, left Virginia for Texas at age fifteen. Credited with introducing roping tricks to the stage, he became associated with Buffalo Bill in his first theatrical attempt during the seasons 1872-73, 1873-74 and 1875-76. Omohundro's name was later used by authors of dime novels.
