Charles A. Stevenson (1851-1929)

Born in Dublin, Charles Alexander Stevenson was a stage and film actor. In 1878 he married his first wife, famed stage actress, playwright and theatrical manager Kate Claxton (1848-1924), to whose theater company he belonged. Stevenson appeared frequently on Broadway and then in Hollywood films throughout the 1920s. Margot Stevenson, his daughter by Frances Riley, became a stage and film actress and radio star. Stevenson poses here as a young unknown.
