Anton Raphael Mengs (1728-1779)

Born in Bohemia, Anton Raphael Mengs developed his neoclassical painting skills by studying art from antiquity, the Renaissance, and the Baroque, while living in Italy. Mengs became a respected teacher and his pupils included Goya. This engraving is after a self-portrait.
