Estaban Murillo (1617-82)

Bartolome Estaban Murillo, renowned 17th-century Spanish artist, excelled at religious painting. He became the most popular Spanish painter of later nineteenth-century Europe, particularly because of the appeal of his sentimental Virgins as well as his flowers and children.
