Seth Kinman (1815-1888)
Seth Kinman was a colorful California hunter and trapper. In 1850 he and a friend walked from Illinois to California. He was an Indian Scout for the U.S. Army. He was also a renowned fiddler. Kinman made antlered and horned chairs for U.S. presidents. In this photo Kinman stands with an unidentified Native American.
