Lincoln's Funeral in Cleveland
A church tower rises beyond Monument Square in Cleveland, where this pagoda-like catafalque was erected for the public to view Lincoln's remains; other cities had simply used their largest buildings. In the end, 150,000 people in Cleveland paid their respects.
