Lincoln's Funeral Procession in Chicago
Thirty-six women in white surround the hearse as it passes though the memorial arch at Park Row on its way down 12th Street into the city. The funeral in Chicago was different from the earlier ones, for here Lincoln had been well known to many, and for a much longer time than he had been known in Washington.
