The Lincoln Family

In this engraving by William Sartain after a painting by S. Bell, only four members of the Lincoln family are shown, although a painting of Willie hangs on the wall. Painted after the 1862 death of Willie, this print was so popular that it was republished as a carte de visite, sold widely, and created the illusion that the Lincolns were photographed together.
