George Sewall Boutwell (1818-1905)
Boutwell was a politician from Massachusetts who held a variety of positions during his political career including governor of the state, United States congressman and senator, and secretary of the treasury under President Grant. He played an active role in Reconstruction politics, helping to frame the Fourteenth Amendment.
