Daniel Chaplin (1820-1864)

Daniel Chaplin entered the Union army as Major of the 2nd Maine Volunteer Infantry. He was mortally wounded at the August 17, 1864, Battle of Deep Bottom, Virginia, and posthumously brevetted Brigadier General and Major General, U.S. Volunteers.
