On the Deck of the U.S. Cutter Wayanda
This picture was taken (or its taking was supervised) by the chief engineer of the Wayanda, Frank H. Pulsifer. The bearded man at center is Lieutenant White, commander of the Wayanda. The seated man in the white hat is Secretary of State William Seward. The standing figure with top-hat whose face is badly blurred has sometimes been misidentified as Abraham Lincoln.
