General Harrison and Tecumseh
At the Battle of the Thames, north of Lake Erie, on October 5, 1813, William Henry Harrison defeated the combined British and Indian forces, and killed Tecumseh, chieftain of the Swanee. In this illustration, Harrison and Tecumseh nearly come to blows at a 1810 meeting at Harrison's home Grouseland. Tecumseh had come to protest the recent treaties that yielded yet more land to white settler
