Chiang Kai-shek (1887-1975)
Chiang Kai-shek was a Chinese Nationalist leader and army general. He worked closely with Sun Yat-sen and cooperated with the Chinese Communists and the Soviet Union. But in 1927 Chiang Kai-shek led the Kuomintang party in a revolt against the Communists. During World War II he accepted aid from the U.S. and Great Britain. In this photo he reads party guidelines to the Central Training Corps in Chongqing, the capital of his Nationalist regime
