Grant in Central Park

This is an illustration by Thomas Nast from the front page of the March 19, 1881 issue of Harper's Weekly depicting General Ulysses S. Grant in Central Park. It may be referring to an unsuccessful attempt to hold the World's Fair in New York. Children playing at soldiers are depicted protesting against their park's being taken over by the fair.
