The Washington Relics
This collection of personal and household items belonging to George Washington is in the collection of the Smithsonian. They were given to the U.S. government after Washington's death and displayed at the Patent Office until 1883. Among the items is Washington's uniform worn at the time he resigned his commission as Commander-in-Chief in 1783. Also included are furniture, cutlery, china and military camp equipment.
