The Grand Review of the victorious Union armies took place in Washington, DC, May 23 and 24 of 1865. This is the Presidential Reviewing stand in front of the White House on Pennsylvania Avenue. It is occupied by President Andrew Johnson and his cabinet, Generals Ulysses S. Grant and William T. Sherman and other military officers. The troops marching by are blurred. This is a modern photographic print from Stereocard No. 3391 in E. & H. T. Anthony's War Views stereocard series.
