The head shot of Elizabeth Monroe is possibly an engraving from a portrait by Luis Sene. Elizabeth Monroe (1768-1830) was nicknamed "Queen Elizabeth" behind her back because of her pretentiousness. She distanced herself from the public and formalized all White House receptions.
