"President Monroe's Inauguration March"
This is the sheet music cover for an inauguration march was composed specifically for the "Era of Good Feeling President," on the event of his first inauguration. Because the Capitol was still under reconstruction following damage during the War of 1812, the President's inaugural speech was given from a platform adjacent to the temporary "Brick Capitol." It was the first outdoor inaugural address.
