Lincoln's Tomb

Abraham Lincoln's body first resided in Oak Ridge Cemetery's public receiving vault which is visible on the right hand side of this picture, somewhat below the Lincoln memorial rises at the center. On December 21st, 1870, Lincoln and his son Willie were moved to a temporary tomb further up the hill which was demolished after Willie and Lincoln joined Tad in the completed crypt of the Lincoln Tomb on the 19th of September, 1871.
