Lincoln in Death
This is the only picture of President Abraham Lincoln in death that has been preserved. It was taken inside City Hall in New York before the viewing began. Rear Admiral Charles H. Davis stands at the head of the coffin and Brigadier-General E. D. Townsend guards the foot.
