Fort Hill, Vicksburg

"Fort Hill was situated on the north side of Vicksburg overlooking the Mississippi. Here were located the powerful Confederate batteries which commanded the river. It was blown up by Federal Troops on June 25th, 1863 by the 45th Illinois Infantry Volunteers."
