Native American Delegates at the White House
Eight Cheyenne and Kiowa Native American delegates pose in the White House conservatory. Standing at left are interpreter William Simpson Smith, Agent Samuel G. Colley, and Kate Chase. The other three women are unidentified. The men seated in front are, from the left, Standing in the Water, War Bonnet, Lean Bear and Yellow Wolf (who died soon afterwards).
