Amos Bronson Alcott (1799-1888)
This bust of Amos Bronson Alcott was done by Daniel Chester French in 1899. Alcott was a transcendentalist philosopher and author as well as an educational and social reformer. He was the father of author Louisa May Alcott. One of his other daughters, May Alcott, was one of Daniel Chester French's early art teachers.
