General Pierre Gustave Toutant Beauregard, C.S.A. (1818-1893)
This hand colored photograph was taken prior to 1861 because Beauregard resigned his commission then and was commissioned a brigadier general in the Confederate Army. He is wearing his U.S. Army uniform here. An 1838 graduate of West Point, Beauregard had served as an engineer in the Mexican War under General Winfield Scott.
