Susan B. Anthony (1820-1906)
Anthony was one of the most famous suffragettes and a reformer for equal rights for women and blacks. She and Elizabeth Cady Stanton founded the National Woman Suffrage Association in 1869. In 1872 she tried to vote and was arrested and brought to trial in Canandaigua, New York.
