Lyman Beecher and Family

Beecher, an influential Presbyterian clergyman and author, is seen here with his children, Henry Ward Beecher and Harriet Beecher Stowe. Harriet Beecher Stowe would gain fame as the author of Uncle Tom's Cabin, which exposed the evils of slavery to the American public. Henry Ward Beecher would become an influential clergyman like his father.
