Canvas Pontoon at Jericho Mills

The 50th New York Engineers built this pontoon across the North Anna River during Grant's Wilderness Campaign. Gen. Warren's 5th Corps crossed here on May 23. This view from the north bank was taken by the Timothy O'Sullivan on May 24, 1864.
