Confederate Prisoners at Gettysburg
Approximately two weeks after the Battle of Gettysburg, Brady photographed this trio of Confederate prisoners on Seminary Ridge. Confederate soldiers were called "Johnnie Rebs" or "Johnnies" by Northerners. As seen here, they wore gray or butternut homespun uniforms, rarely two alike.
