Sunken Mud Scow at Dutch Gap

This mud scow used to dredge the Dutch Gap canal was sunk by a Confederate shell on Thanksgiving Day. Union troops tried to build a canal at Dutch Gap in late 1864 to cut off a part of the James River, but to no avail.
