"Blind Tom," Thomas Grimes (1849-1908)
Blind Tom was a pianist and composer born to slaves Mingo Wiggins and Charity of the Wiley Jones plantation. Grimes was taught, managed, exhibited, and exploited by the Bethune family of Columbus, Georgia.
