The Matthews family from England, who starred in Barnum's Circus in 1873, were known for their triple somersaults and "Ladder Perileuse" feat. Here "Professor" Matthews and his wife, Harriet, pose with their children Laurina, Frederick, George, Theodore, and Willie.
