General John Cabell Breckinridge, C.S.A.
John C. Breckinridge studied and practiced law, then won a seat in Kentucky's state legislature, followed by two terms in the U.S. House of Representatives. At age 35, he became the youngest vice president in U.S. history for James Buchanan. He was a major general in the Confederate army and was appointed the secretary of war for the Confederate States of America. The uniform was painted on the photograph.
