The Valley Pike, Where "Sheridan's Ride" Took Place

This is the road in Cedar Creek, Virginia, northeast of Middletown, where, on October 19, 1864, General Philip H. Sheridan joined his army and rode twenty-miles along this route to rouse the troops back into action.
