CSS Governor Moore

The Confederate "Governor Moore," a side-wheel "cotton-clad" ram, was originally the steamship Charles Morgan, built at New York in 1854. Seized at New Orleans in January, 1862, she was converted to a warship and attached to the Confederacy's Mississippi River Defense Fleet. The Governor Moore was known for ramming and sinking the USS Varuna on April 24, 1862.
