Marie Rappold (1873-1957)
Marie Winterroth Rappold, a soprano from London, made her 1905 Metropolitan opera debut as Sulamith in "Die Konigen von Saba." After four years at the Met, Rappold went to Europe, then returned to the Met (1910-20). The soprano settled in Los Angeles, where she taught and appeared in films. Here Rappold (center) appears in a comedy at University City in 1916. Verdi E. B. Fuller (manager) is seated on the left and comedian Harry Depp on the right.
